Exhibit Inventory


Following is a list of exhibits currently in inventory.


Earth And Sun

The Earth and Sun exhibit was developed by a major science center institution and subsequently transferred to another institution in central Missouri where it is still in use. The exhibit is nine feet in diameter and 30 inches high. There is a plexiglas surround that prevents visitors from touching an inner table driven by an electrically powered chain drive. A lighted Sun is at the center of the table and a rotating Earth globe travels around the Sun with a tilt an its axis to illustrate the seasons at each point in its revolution. The speed of the Earth's revolution and rotation is controlled by a concealed rheostat switch. There are also buttons which allow visitors to start and stop the motion with an automatic stop after three Earth revolutions. 
Selling price is $2,000. 

Journey To The Planets

Journey To The Planets is a kiosk-based exhibit developed by a major science center using content supplied by

NASA. It is a multimedia exploration of the planets of our solar system. Journey was transferred to an institution in central Missouri where it is still in use. It consists of an oblong cabinet with a 5'x10' footprint and a kiosk at each end using a trackball interface. The opening kiosk display pictures the nine planets. Opening any of the planets allows the visitor to choose to learn about various planetary features each of which contains a NASA-produced video clip. The center of the cabinet houses a mechanized black-lit solar system viewable through portholes in the cabinet sides. Models of each planet ride on a steel orbit attached to the top of the exhibit.

Strange Places In Outer Space
Strange Places in Outer Space is a video kiosk describing unusual objects in deep spac
e housed in a colorful art deco cabinet. Each video is selectable by the visitor using promin
ent push buttons on the kiosk mapped to a menu displayed on screen. Internally the system is driven by laser disk technology. A backup laser disk player is supplied. Selling price is $1,500.
Ceratosaurus

This ceratosaurus model is a unique creation by a relatively little known paleo-artist. The core of the sculpture is foam carved to the approximate shape and dimensions of the creature. The foam is then covered with an epoxy formula that can be carved and textured. The artist used advice from university specialists to refine the skin surface and colors based on the best speculation of dinosaur paleontologists. The result is scientifically accurate, but also very light for transport and positioning. Measures approximately 15 feet 6 inches long.

Models of similar quality and size sell for $50K. Our sales price is $13,000 


Noah's Ark

Noah's Ark is a great playground piece Approximately 10 feet long and 4 feet wide. One side of the ark features separate slides sets for toddlers and bigger kids. The opposite side has the entry port and opening to the upper observation deck. The interior is equipped with sailor's hammock, steering wheel (just for show) and periscope. 

Construction is of durable pressure treated wood with sturdy 4x4 frame. Sale price is $1,500.










Art Deco Light Fixture Lenses

These durable plexiglas lenses were used for decorative lighting in a planetarium foyer. There are three identical pieces with wood frames. The back view of the lens shows that there is ample room to insert lighting hardware. They could be mounted in a variety of ways. The front view actually is upside down from the way they were originally used with conduit coming down from the small hole in the "rocket pod" bottom lens housing. Dimensions are 33" by 33" by 8.5".

Selling Price is $250.



Stegosaurus

This is a sculpture of a small life-size Stegosaurus about 8'5" long by 4' high. The core of the sculpture is foam carved to the approximate shape and dimensions of the creature. The foam is then covered with an epoxy formula that can be carved and textured. The materials make him light enough to be moved easily and are weather resistant for outdoor placement. 

Selling price is $3,100.









Vintage Hang Glider

Glider plus pilot's harness from the 1980's. The glider has a wing span of approximately 39 feet. Not recommended for flying but great for a colorful and decorative exhibit celebrating human flight.
